One of the main principles of the European Capital of Culture project is positioning Novi Sad as one of the centres of European cultural life during 2022 through connecting the local, European and even world artistic scene. Based on that idea and in order to enrich the programme planned for 2022, the \u2018Novi Sad \u2013 European Capital of Culture\u2019 Foundation<\/a> announced the Public call for co-financing cooperation programmes with Japan<\/a>, which will be implemented in the title year in Novi Sad and its surroundings.<\/p>\n

In order to better connect with the Japanese cultural and artistic scene, the Foundation has established cooperation with the EU \u2013 Japan Fest<\/a>, which will support cooperation projects with Japanese artists and organisations that fit into the concept of the programme for the title year.<\/p>\n

Expected types of expression are popular music, classical music, film, literary events, heritage in contemporary interpretation, photography, (new) media and technologies, design, street art, new circus and street theatre, stage performance of contemporary drama text, contemporary dance, visual arts and the like.<\/p>\n

All interested in the public call can apply until 10 August 2021<\/strong>, while all information on the criteria, required documentation, as well as application forms are available in the Public calls section<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Principal Opera Artist of the Serbian National Theatre on a Study Trip to Tokyo<\/h2>\n

\u2018Novi Sad \u2013 European Capital of Culture\u2019 Foundation has been nurturing its cooperation with the EU \u2013 Japan Fest for years through the Kizuna exchange programme, which includes a study trip of Novi Sad artists to Japan. In this round, Jelena Kon\u010dar, mezzo-soprano and the principal artist of the Opera of the Serbian National Theatre<\/strong>, was elected.<\/p>\n

The artist will travel to Tokyo in October 2021, and the main goals of her trip will be connecting with Japanese artists and cultural institutions, exchanging experiences, promoting Serbian vocal music in Japan, and Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture in 2022.<\/p>\n

The last cycle of the public call for financial support to local artists and cultural workers for the implementation of a study and research trip to Japan within the Kizuna exchange programme, will be open until the end of August 2021. The cycle will complete the Kizuna exchange programme, and artists who wish to use this last opportunity for a unique experience of a study trip to Japan can find more information in the Public calls section.<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
