This space, the legacy project of the European Capital of Culture, will remain open after the title year, for Novi Sad, but more importantly, all its artists. It includes the installation of <strong>49 masts and 49 artistic flags<\/strong> in the part of the park which has been the <strong>Suba\u2019s Plateau<\/strong> since 2012, and where a plaque with the name of this famous Novi Sad composer and producer is. During the following period, works on arranging this new art space will begin, where local, European, and international visual artists will be involved during various programme activities of the \u2018Novi Sad \u2013 European Capital of Culture\u2019 project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The programme activity <\/strong>in this location is planned for the <strong>second half of March <\/strong>already, as part of the current \u2018Migrations\u2019 programme arch, with which we continue on with the programme of cultural events within the European Capital of Culture. The name of the exhibition is \u2018MigrArt\u2019 and is made in collaboration between five cities that have already borne the title of European Capital of Culture or will bear it in 2022. It will focus on the issue of the current economic, social, existential, or political migrations taking place in Europe, and in particular the artists\u2019 respective countries.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-18603 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Jarboli-render-2-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Jarboli-render-2-2.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Jarboli-render-2-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Jarboli-render-2-2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Jarboli-render-2-2-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The project is part of the application book from 2016 with which Novi Sad applied for the European Capital of Culture and is implemented by the gallery \u2018BelArt\u2019, which created the artistic concept of this space based on the architectural and urban idea of Liman Park, by architect <strong>Sava Forkapi\u0107<\/strong> in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>In memory of Mitar Suboti\u0107 Suba (<strong>Rex<\/strong> <strong>Ilusivii<\/strong>), <strong>a public contest for the conceptual design and installation of the sculpture<\/strong> in this part of Liman Park will be realized, as a joint initiative of the \u2018Novi Sad \u2013 European Capital of Culture\u2019 Foundation and the \u2018Mitar Suboti\u0107 Suba\u2019 Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the \u2019Migration\u2019 programme arch three more exhibitions are expected in the following programme arches: \u2018Future of Europe\u2019, \u2018Fortress of Peace\u2019 and \u2018Kaleidoscope of Culture\u2019, while the \u2018Other? Europe\u2019 programme arch will include the installation of a contemporary sculpture dedicated to Suba&#8217;s cosmopolitan spirit, along with other content such as the exhibition \u2018Suba Room\u2019 and a remake of his composition and musical installation in co-production with <strong>Goran Vejvoda<\/strong>: <em>The Dreambird<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitar Suboti\u0107 Suba was one of the biggest and most renowned music producers and a pioneer of electronic music in the old Yugoslavia, as well as in Latin America<\/strong>. He composed music for films, theatre plays, ballets, television shows, commercials, and jingles for Radio Novi Sad. He is the winner of a UNESCO prize for his contribution to culture.
