The multimedia literature pavilion \u2018Migration of Souls\u2019<\/strong>, unique for this part of Europe, starts on Thursday, 3 March<\/strong>, at the Novi Sad Fair<\/strong>, and will present various influences of migration on culture through literature, performance, and visual arts over the next ten days.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Migration of Souls\u2019 programme will be opened on 3 March <\/strong>by the Japanese singer-songwriter, producer, and guitarist famous for his specific playing style, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Miyavi<\/strong>, who is arriving in Novi Sad with the support of the EU Japan Fest and the Japan Committee<\/em>. The Barcelona Gipsy balKan Orchestra<\/strong> will perform their rendering of the famous Roma song \u2018Gelem, gelem\u2019, which has more than 10 million views on YouTube, on 6 March.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"miyavi<\/p>\n

Bogdan Rankovi\u0107 and the Novi Sad ensemble \u2018Ethnoforia\u2019, accompanied by the famous Japanese dancer and choreographer Kaori Ito,<\/strong> who is also arriving with the support of the EU Japan Fest and the Japan Committee<\/em>, will perform on 8 March<\/strong>, and Bilja Krsti\u0107 & Bistrik Orchestra<\/strong> will take the stage on 10 March<\/strong>. Two<\/strong> members of the famous band Gotan Project<\/strong>, Christoph H. M\u00fcller and Eduardo Makaroff<\/strong>, pioneers in the art of combining traditional tango and modern pop with electronic music, will present their new project \u2013<\/strong> Antropoceno!<\/em> <\/strong>on 12 March<\/strong>, and their show will be introduced by a performance from Romanian dance school \u2018Tango Timisoara<\/strong>\u2019. Antropoceno!<\/em> music project <\/strong>connects music and science, with an emphasis on climate change.<\/p>\n

\"enigma<\/p>\n

Original Enigma Voices<\/strong>, laureates of more than 100 platinum records around the world, will be arriving for the first time in Novi Sad, where they will take the stage as part of the \u2018The Migration of Souls\u2019 programme arch on 13 March, with the city orchestra Camerata Novi Sad<\/em>. All concerts start at 8 p.m. in Hall 1 of the Novi Sad Fair.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The play \u2018Fugitives\u2019<\/strong> directed by Du\u0161an Mamula, will be performed in Hall 1<\/strong> of the Novi Sad Fair on 5 March at 8 p.m.<\/strong>, and the play \u2018We All Came from Somewhere, and a Some a Little Earlier\u2019 <\/strong>will be performed by the association \u2018\u0160miranti\u2019 and the art team from the Italian partner organization \u2018Policardia Teatro\u2019, led by director Andrea Moretti, in Hall 1<\/strong> of the Novi Sad Fair on<\/strong> 7 March at 8 p.m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"migrations<\/p>\n

The most popular contemporary writers in the region will be arriving in Novi Sad on this occasion, including Rumena Bu\u017earovska<\/strong>, who will open literary talks on 3 March at 6 p.m.<\/strong>, and Milica Vu\u010dkovi\u0107<\/strong>, who will make an appearance on 5 March<\/strong>. Dejan Tiago Stankovi\u0107 <\/strong>will come to the literary pavilion on 4 March<\/strong>, and Miljenko Jergovi\u0107<\/strong> will present himself to the audience on 6 March<\/strong>, Damir Karaka\u0161<\/strong> on 7<\/strong> March<\/strong>, and fans of the written word will have the opportunity to listen to Kristian Novak and Darko Cvijeti\u0107<\/strong> on 9 March.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Tiago\"<\/p>\n

The key event of the \u2018Migration of Souls\u2019 programme is the exhibition<\/strong> of the same name with the subtitle \u2018Migration of Souls \u2013 Novi Sad in Books<\/strong>\u2019, organised by the Novi Sad City Library, associated with the traditional Novi Sad Book Fair, and on display in the Aula of the Novi Sad Fair <\/strong>from 3 to 13 March<\/strong>. On that occasion, three expert-guided tours<\/strong> will be organized on 4, 8, and 12 March between 2 and 3 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the Carnival of Ritual Processions<\/strong>, the audience will listen to a lecture titled \u2018Masks and People Behind Masks\u2019 on 3 March at 4 p.m.<\/strong>, and the guests will be an anthropologist and ethnologist Prof. Vesna Marjanovi\u0107, PhD. The Children’s masquerade will be organized on 10 March at 11 a.m.<\/strong>, followed by a concert of guest troupes from the country and abroad on 11 March at 6 p.m<\/strong>. Tickets are on sale at Gigstix<\/em> ticket offices and online via gigstix.com<\/em>, as well as at the Novi Sad Fair ticket office on the day of the concert.<\/p>\n

The promotion of the Novi Sad writer Laszlo Vegel\u2019s<\/strong> essay \u2018In the Promised Land\u2019<\/strong> will be held in the Master Hall of the Novi Sad Fair <\/strong>on 4 March at 6 p.m.<\/strong>, while the audience will have the chance to get acquainted with the project \u2018Following Roma Paths\u2019<\/strong> by the Roma Association \u2018Karlova\u010dke zore\u2019, which will include a digital catalogue of Roma folk costumes in Vojvodina, a fashion show, and a presentation of Roma folk dances and songs in the Master Hall of the Novi Sad Fair on 6 March at 7 p.m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The audience will be treated to a staged reading of Michael Martens’ book \u2018In the Fire of Worlds: Ivo Andri\u0107 \u2013 A European Life\u2019<\/strong>, signed by Muharem Bazdulj, <\/strong>in the Master Hall of the Novi Sad Fair on 8 March at 4 p.m.<\/strong> The Moroccan band Chalaban<\/strong> will perform in Hall 1 of the Novi Sad Fair on 9 March at 8 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tickets for all concerts and the play \u2018Fugitives\u2019 can be purchased at the Gigstix ticket offices and online via the gigstix.com<\/em> website, as well as at the Novi Sad Fair entrance one hour before the event. The organizers ask all visitors to wear masks and keep the prescribed distance. Green Covid-19 certificates are not required, and masks will be issued at the entrance.<\/p>\n

Novi Sad Fair<\/a> is the partner of the \u2018Migration of Souls\u2019 programme, and the companies Globos<\/em> osiguranje<\/em><\/a> and Dijamant DOO<\/em><\/a> also provided support.
