{"id":26756,"date":"2022-08-05T14:14:42","date_gmt":"2022-08-05T12:14:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/?p=26756"},"modified":"2022-08-05T14:14:42","modified_gmt":"2022-08-05T12:14:42","slug":"new-piers-of-culture-near-novi-sad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/en\/new-piers-of-culture-near-novi-sad\/","title":{"rendered":"New Piers of Culture Near Novi Sad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sremski Karlovci, Sremska Kamenica, Irig, \u010cerevi\u0107, Bano\u0161tor and Novi Rakovac are the places that will be the centres of the artistic programmes of the European Capital of Culture and <a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/the-event-calendar-danube-sea\/\">The Danube Sea<\/a> programme arch throughout August.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first stop is Bano\u0161tor, where the <a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/big-straw-in-banostor\/\"><strong>\u2018Big Straw\u2019<\/strong><\/a> festival will be held. The festival will bring together visiting artists and students of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, led by Osijek artist Nikola Faler. Monumental sculptures made of straw, three meters high, will represent birds, horses, flowers \u2014 the flora and fauna of the Danube Plain region. The emphasis will be on original, copyright music, which, with its mix of genres, entertaining character and virtuoso performance, has broken all boundaries and managed to turn these seemingly local heroes into world-renowned artists.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Magnifico-Tomo-Brejc2-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26758\" src=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Magnifico-Tomo-Brejc2-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1708\" height=\"961\" srcset=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Magnifico-Tomo-Brejc2-2.jpg 1708w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Magnifico-Tomo-Brejc2-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Magnifico-Tomo-Brejc2-2-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Magnifico-Tomo-Brejc2-2-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Magnifico-Tomo-Brejc2-2-1536x864.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1708px) 100vw, 1708px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The highlight of The Danube Sea programme arch will be <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/the-tamburitza-philharmonic-orchestra\/\">The Tamburitza Philharmonic Orchestra<\/a><\/strong> in the Liberty Square on 21 August. It will gather for the first time 200 participants from 11 countries and finally highlight the diversity of the Danube countries, with the tones by which the tamburitza is recognizable in Europe and the world.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that we often see the Danube as a metaphor for contemporary creativity, contemporary art practice in the most beautiful areas around Novi Sad, will be confirmed by authors from the countries along the Danube, gathered around the <a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/outside-the-centre\/\"><strong>\u2018Outside the Centre\u2019<\/strong><\/a> project, which visitors will have the opportunity to experience through four exhibitions, three artistic events and a diverse educational programme.<\/p>\n<p>Decentralized cultural content that deals with the heritage of the Danube region is reflected in projects such as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/open-village-3\/\">\u2018Open Village\u2019<\/a><\/strong>, which deals with the intangible heritage of rural communities. This exhibition will be opened in the Serbian Reading Room in Irig and will include photos and video stories of 50 residents of Hopovo, who will present the past, as well as their personal experience of this place.
