The concert<\/a> of the world-famous percussionist Evelyn Glennie and the experimental musician from Senta, Szil\u00e1rd Mezei, will be held on 9 October at the City Concert Hall, starting at 8 p.m.<\/strong> Their concert, which represents an interesting artistic combination, will be an introduction to the last programme arch of the European Capital of Culture \u2013 Other? Europe<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the concert are available from today, 20 September, at the Gigs Tix shops, as well as on their website<\/a>. The price of the ticket is RSD 500.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two-time Grammy winner<\/strong>, Evelyn Glennie, will perform together with Szil\u00e1rd Mezei, a musician and composer from Senta, who performs and composes contemporary improvised music, and the Polar Quartet<\/strong>, made of Szil\u00e1rd Mezei<\/strong> \u2013 viola, Bogdan Rankovi\u0107<\/strong> \u2013 clarinet, bass clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone, Ivan Burka<\/strong> \u2013 vibraphone, marimba, percussion, and Ervin Malina<\/strong> \u2013 double bass. Before the improvisation with Szil\u00e1rd Mezei, Glennie will also perform the \u2018Piece for Dance\u2019<\/strong> by the composer James Keane, which was composed just for her.<\/p>\n

In 2018, Evelyn Glennie and Szil\u00e1rd Mezei recorded an album of improvised music called The Core-tet Project with two other excellent improvisers Jon Hemmersam and Michael Jefry Stevens. This will be their first joint performance in front of an audience as part of the \u2018Creative Embassies and Ambassadors\u2019 project, a goal of which is to connect major world stars with artists from Serbia.<\/p>\n
