{"id":28279,"date":"2022-09-27T15:01:45","date_gmt":"2022-09-27T13:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/?p=28279"},"modified":"2022-09-27T15:01:45","modified_gmt":"2022-09-27T13:01:45","slug":"open-call-for-suba-s-sculpture-closed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/en\/open-call-for-suba-s-sculpture-closed\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Call for Suba\u2019s Sculpture Closed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/en\/rs\/otvoren-poziv-za-idejno-resenje-izgleda-skulture-subi-2\/\">open call<\/a> for the sculptural and architectural solutions for the appearance of the sculpture dedicated to Mitar Suboti\u0107 Suba, the pioneer of electronic music in Serbia<\/strong>, launched by the <strong>\u2018Novi Sad \u2014 European Capital of Culture\u2019 Foundation<\/strong>, which was open to experts in the field of architecture, applied or fine arts <strong>has now been closed<\/strong>. <strong>The results of the open call will be announced on the websites of the Foundation and Public Procurement, on 4 October 2022. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sculpture will be placed right on the Suba\u2019s Plateau, at the entrance to Liman Park, as a joint initiative of the Mitar Suboti\u0107 Suba Foundation and the Novi Sad \u2013 European Capital of Culture Foundation. The sculpture will complement the art space on Suba\u2019s Plateau, where the first open-air gallery in Novi Sad has been set up this year, thus starting a new practice of exhibiting artistic flags.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Subin-plato-foto-M.Pudic4_-2.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28281\" src=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Subin-plato-foto-M.Pudic4_-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1170\" height=\"780\" srcset=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Subin-plato-foto-M.Pudic4_-2.jpg 1170w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Subin-plato-foto-M.Pudic4_-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Subin-plato-foto-M.Pudic4_-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Subin-plato-foto-M.Pudic4_-2-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1170px) 100vw, 1170px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The sculpture will be installed as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/other-europe\/\"><strong>Other? Europe<\/strong><\/a> programme arch, when other programmes will be dedicated to Suba, such as the exhibition \u2018Suba Room\u2019, a remake of his composition and a musical installation in co-production with Goran Vejvoda: The Dreambird, and a concert by the popular Brazilian singer C\u00e9u, who won three Latin Grammys and was nominated for a Grammy in the category of world music.<\/p>\n<p>Mitar Suboti\u0107 Suba was one of the biggest and most recognised music producers and a pioneer of electronic music in the former Yugoslavia, but also in Latin America. He composed music for films, theatre plays, ballet, television shows, advertisements, and opening and closing sequences for Radio Novi Sad. He is the recipient of the International Fund for Promotion of Culture award from UNESCO.
