Europe<\/a><\/strong>, which will deal with the questioning of dominant values in European culture and art, and within which some of the main programmes will bring inclusive events with an emphasis on the creativity of marginalized groups, present comics in new forms, and introduce the audience to the wealth of alternative, minority, avant-garde genres, languages and expressions. The programme arch lasts <strong>from 7 October to 27 November<\/strong>, with <strong>more than 430 artists from as many as 38 different countries<\/strong> participating.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Doubt, apprehension, I would even say prejudice followed Novi Sad from the candidacy process, all the way to the status of one of the best European Capitals of Culture. That is why we prepared everything that is different, under-prominent, alternative and independent for the end. Europe will be opened with a concert by a percussionist <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/feel-the-sound-concert-by-evelyn-glennie-and-mezei-szilard\/\">Evelyn Glennie<\/a><\/strong> who has been deaf since the age of twelve, as well as a performance by an energetic Viennese orchestra <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/black-page-orchestra-3\/\">Black Page Orchestra<\/a><\/strong>, as well as the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/uros-predic-for-everyone\/\">\u2018Uro\u0161 Predi\u0107 for Everyone\u2019<\/a><\/strong> exhibition which will be opened in the Gallery of Matica Srpska on 7 October, and whose partners are significant European museum institutions in terms of accessibility \u2013 Art and History Museum in Vienna and Typhlological Museum in Zagreb.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/hederi4-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28629\" src=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/hederi4-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" srcset=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/hederi4-1.png 1920w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/hederi4-1-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/hederi4-1-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/hederi4-1-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/hederi4-1-1536x864.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2018The exhibition \u201cUro\u0161 Predi\u0107 for Everyone\u201d will be adapted to visually impaired people through three-dimensional image models with audio descriptions. Furthermore, the exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue in Braille, as well as an audio recording of the catalogue text. The work and character of Uro\u0161 Predi\u0107 will be brought closer to the youngest through a new educational programme, while comics workshops will be implemented for young people, as well as a special programme for people of the elderly. Europe will dedicate an important segment to comics, therefore the most significant comic artists will gather in Novi Sad, and present the new forms of this art in the District from 21 to 30 October. During that period, comics will be the visual language of the <strong>exhibition<\/strong> dedicated to secondary waste collectors and those with the most deprived backgrounds and their stories will be presented by comic artists from Ljubljana, Prague, Amsterdam, Pan\u010devo and Novi Sad. Furthermore, the exhibition <a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/from-neven-to-batman\/\"><strong>\u2018From Neven to Batman\u2019<\/strong><\/a> about the history of comics in Yugoslavia and Serbia will show visitors how fertile our country was and remains a fertile ground for the ninth art. On this occasion, the theatre adaptation of the first comic book heroine <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/cat-claw-3\/\">Cat Claw<\/a><\/strong>, written by Banet Kertac and directed by the famous Dutch director Michael Helmerhorst, will have its first performances at the Youth Theatre, with the use of innovative digital scenography.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-September28-004-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28631\" src=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-September28-004-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-September28-004-2.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-September28-004-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-September28-004-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-September28-004-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-September28-004-2-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2018Visually, this is a theatre representation of the comic book series that Kerac set in the bankrupt asphalt jungle of New York in the 1980s. In the script, which was written in English but later translated into Serbian, the emphasis is on comic book iconography that deals with &#8216;larger than life&#8217; villains inspired by action films,\u2019 says <strong>director Michael Helmerhorst<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-October04-031-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28632\" src=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-October04-031-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-October04-031-2.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-October04-031-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-October04-031-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-October04-031-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/novisad2022.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/V.Velickovic-October04-031-2-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The most important Roma artists of today, among them Zoran Tairovi\u0107, Albanian artist Sead Kazanxhiu, then Nihad Nino Pu\u0161ija and British artist Delaine La Bas, under the curatorial guidence of Vladan Jeremi\u0107, were invited to present their work through the <a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/events\/sa-druge-strane-slike\/\"><strong>\u2018The Other Side of Image\u2019<\/strong><\/a> exhibition, while young Roma men and women will perform the musical <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kalendar.novisad2022.rs\/en\/events\/my-voice-travels\/\">\u2018My Voice Travels\u2019<\/a><\/strong>. In addition to this, the European Capital of Culture will pay a kind of tribute to one of the greatest Novi Sad artists who was ahead of his time, Mitar Suboti\u0107 Suba. I think that what remains after is very significant, because our city needs to get such a content,\u2019 said <strong>Branka Parli\u0107, the author of the project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During the the Other?
