Despite the bad weather last weekend, the seventh Kaleidoscope of Culture in Novi Sad attracted an audience to Ti\u0161ma\u2019s Pavilion, which marked the second week, dedicated to literature, of one of the most significant artistic events in this part of Europe. Now, the programme for the third week, dedicated to performing arts, has been announced.<\/p>\n

The star of this week will be\u00a0Ibrahim Maalouf, one of the most prominent trumpeters of today.<\/strong>\u00a0This French-Lebanese instrumentalist and Grammy-nominated composer, after sold-out concerts at France\u2019s largest concert hall,\u00a0Accor Arena,<\/strong>\u00a0New York\u2019s\u00a0Carnegie Hall,<\/strong>\u00a0and Paris\u2019\u00a0Olympia<\/strong>, will perform in Novi Sad\u2019s District on the large open-air stage on\u00a0Saturday, 21 September, at 8:30 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0Admission to the concert is free, and no reservations or sign-ups are required. Entry will be possible only from Despota Stefana Boulevard 5, near the Fabrika facility.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The day before, on 20 September,<\/strong>\u00a0as part of the Performing Arts Week, the audience will have the opportunity to see the\u00a0dance performance \u2018Bark,\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0inspired by the novel\u00a0Faith and Treason<\/em>\u00a0by Aleksandar Ti\u0161ma. It will be performed on the large open-air stage in the District by dancers from the\u00a0\u2018Vuk Karad\u017ei\u0107\u2019 Artistic Association from Temerin, starting at 9 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the same evening, at\u00a0SCCNS Fabrika, at 7 p.m.<\/strong>, there will be a\u00a0performance of\u00a0Democracy<\/em>, directed by Veljko Mi\u0107unovi\u0107.<\/strong>\u00a0The play, by Belgrade Drama Theatre, was created in co-production with Novi Sad Theatre (\u00dajvid\u00e9ki Sz\u00ednh\u00e1z).<\/p>\n

In line with Novi Sad\u2019s membership in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2023, the\u00a0multimedia project \u2018guitARevolution\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0will present the audience with contemporary guitar art in completely new augmented reality frameworks. Visitors will be able to see this performance at\u00a08 p.m. in the District, at the Biro facility.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the second year in a row, a Pritzker Prize winner in\u00a0<\/strong>Architecture Week<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the Architecture Week,<\/strong>\u00a0this year\u2019s Kaleidoscope of Culture will once again host a\u00a0Pritzker Prize winner,<\/strong>\u00a0the Nobel equivalent in the field of architecture.\u00a0Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto<\/strong>\u00a0received the most prestigious award for his projects aimed at fostering community and connecting people by blurring the boundaries between public and private spaces. Over his five-decade-long career, he has built numerous private homes, residential projects, schools, university campuses, museums, and even a fire station.<\/p>\n

The multi-award-winning Japanese architect Riken Yamamoto will give a\u00a0lecture in the District on Saturday, 28 September, at 8:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Black Wave closes the seventh Kaleidoscope of Culture<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The seventh edition of Kaleidoscope of Culture will dedicate its\u00a0final, fifth week to visual arts.<\/strong>\u00a0In the grand finale of the seventh Kaleidoscope of Culture,\u00a0on 4 and 5 in the District,<\/strong>\u00a0the exhibition\u00a0\u2018The Blackest Wave\u2019 will be opened.<\/strong>\u00a0This event offers a retrospective of the works of the most important directors of this period, including Du\u0161an Makavejev, \u017delimir \u017dilnik, Aleksandar Petrovi\u0107, \u017divojin Pavlovi\u0107, and Lazar Stojanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The programme will include\u00a0spatial video installations<\/strong>\u00a0in the exhibition space, which will highlight key topics and aesthetics of the \u2018Black Wave\u2019 through innovative presentations, along with\u00a0film screenings<\/strong>\u00a0where selected films will be shown in full, accompanied by panel discussions with experts. Films to be screened include\u00a0I Even Met Happy Gipses<\/em>,\u00a0Plastic Jesus<\/em>, and\u00a0When I Am Dead and\u00a0<\/em>Gone<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The workshop and exhibition\u00a0\u2018Analog Me, Digital Me\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0will take place in the District\u00a0on 4 and 5 October at 7 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0This video art workshop questions identity by asking what makes us \u2018natural\u2019 in the analog world versus the digital world.<\/p>\n

The Visual Arts Week will also include the\u00a0\u2018Bio Awaking\u2019 project<\/strong>, which will introduce visitors to the world of innovative bio art and biotechnology, culminating\u00a0on 4 October.<\/strong>\u00a0These activities will offer visitors a unique opportunity to participate in interactive workshops, gain new knowledge about biotechnological techniques, and explore the boundaries between art and science.<\/p>\n
