Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture Shortlisted for the European Trend Brand of the Year 2021

The ’Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ project was shortlisted for the European Trend Brand of the Year 2021 at the upcoming European Cultural Brand Awards, which will be awarded for the sixteenth time in Dresden, on 11 November 2021.

As many as 110 organizations and cultural institutions from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Belarus, France, Israel, Lithuania, Russia, Serbia and the Netherlands competed for the most prestigious European award in the field of culture. The Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture project is shortlisted together with the Berlin organization ’Stiftung Zukunft Berlin’ and Switzerland’s digital platform for culture ’SpectYou’ in the category ’European Trend Brand of the Year 2021’.

The 40-member jury of experts from culture, business and media selected 26 nominees under the moderation of jury president Dr. Hagen W. Lippe-Weißenfeld in the state capital Dresden on 24 September 2021.

Launched in 2006, the competition for innovative cultural management, trend-setting cultural marketing and sustainable cultural promotion is now considered Europe’s most advanced cultural award and honours pioneering cultural projects in a total of eight competition categories.

In addition to the category Novi Sad competes in, the awards will be presented in the following categories as well: ’European Cultural Brend of the Year 2021’, ’European Cultural Manager of the Year 2021’, ’European Cultural Investor of the Year 2021’, ’European Education Programme of the Year 2021’, ’European Cultural Tourism Region of the Year 2021’, ’European Prize for Urban Culture 2021’ and ’European Prize for Sustainability in the Cultural Market 2021’.

In the past, winners of the ’European Trend Brand of the Year’, a category Novi Sad competes in this year, were the Deichman Bjørvika, Oslo Public Library (2020), the STEGREIF.orchestra from Berlin (2019), Dresden State Art Collections (2018) and Berlin – Wroclaw Culture Train (2017).
