For the seventh year in a row, Novi Sad will enter the New Year with an unusual artistic and production programme that makes a unique Doček in Europe, in the Suburbium of the Petrovaradin Fortress.
The programme starts at 5 p.m. with the third edition of the Tesla Light Gallery, which will be installed in Suburbium, the tunnel, near the Clock, in the park on the Fortress and in the Planetarium. Inspired by Tesla’s private life, artists Monika Bilbija Ponjavić, Miloš Martinov, Tijana Jevrić, Ivana Janošev and Dutch artists Alex Prooper and Simone van Dam, along with student Milica Blešić from the Academy of Arts and Jovana Dugonjić from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, will create a completely new ambience of the baroque jewel of Novi Sad through the play of light and sound, and interactive audio-visual art installations.
On three stages, European, regional and local performers bring a variety of musical genres as part of Doček. ABBA RING will open the programme on the main stage in front of the Belgrade Gate at 20:23 p.m., and after them concerts will be held by Buč Kesidi at 10 p.m., Ljubičice at 11 p.m., while the programme on this stage will be closed by Kiril Džajkovski & TK Wonder whose performance starts at 11:45 p.m. On the stage located in Prote Mihaldžića Square, the audience will listen to Elemental at 10 p.m., and Partibrejkers at 11:30 p.m. DJ Frank Roger and DJ Dejan Milićević will perform on the stage in Štrosmajerova Street at 21:30 p.m.
Admission to all the programmes on 31 December in the Suburbium of the Petrovaradin Fortress is free, and there will be drink and food stands for visitors. Mobile toilets will also be provided.
Ticket sales for 13 January
The best European Trend Brand, Doček, includes the celebration of two New Years, thus visitors will be able to get their tickets for concerts on 13 January at the Gigstix point of sale, which will be set up in Prote Mihaldžića Square on 31 December.
Temporary change of traffic regime
Due to the implementation of Doček, there will be a temporary traffic ban in the Suburbium of the Petrovaradin Fortress, i.e. in Beogradska Street, from Vladike Nikolaja Square to the access road to the Fortress, in Štrosmajerova Street, Prote Mihaldžića Street, Vladimira Nazora Street, and Lisinskog Street, as well as until the parking lot on the upper plateau of the Petrovaradin Fortress.
Due to the temporary ban on traffic, the routes of bus lines 3, 3a, 9, 9a, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, and 69 will also be changed. The temporary change to the traffic regime is valid from 29 December 2023 from 7 a.m. to 2 January 2024, until 6 p.m.
