One of the most successful and extravagant artists in the region, top performer and author of sevdalinka Božo Vrećo and famous musician Edin Karamazov will present the joint studio album ‘Lachirmae’ at the City Concert Hall in Novi Sad on Tuesday, 15 March. The concert will be held at 6 p.m. and then again at 8.30 p.m. as part of the Migrations programme arch, which examines the themes of the positive impact of migration.
The artist and songwriter, Božo Vrećo, released the album ‘Lachirmae’ in 2020 in collaboration with Edin Karamazov. During the first collaboration, Božo Vrećo and Edin Karamazov presented themselves to the audience with 11 songs that were a real refreshment for the world music scene aficionados, as well as for the loyal fans of these two performers. The album was announced and then opened with the first single, a cover of the famous ‘Emina’. The album also includes the songs ‘Bor sadila moma Evgenija’, ‘Nani nani’ (Canción sefardí), ‘Kad ja pođoh na Bembašu’ (instrumental), ‘Sjela đeva pored mora’, ‘Kâtibim’, ‘Si zaljubiv edno mome’, ‘Ašik osta’ na te oči’, ‘Oh, jesenje duge noći’, ’Što te nema’ and ‘Dunjaluče, golem li si’.
Apart from sevdah, musician Božo Vrećo also enjoys soul music and jazz and blues, and he’s been trying to include elements of these musical directions in his songs for years. At the beginning of his career as a member of Halka, Božo released two albums: ‘Halka’ in 2013, and ‘O ljubavi’ in 2014. He continued his career as a solo artist adding four more albums to his discography: ‘Moj sevdah’ (2014), ‘Pandora’ (2017), ‘Melek’ (2018), and the previously mentioned album ‘Lachirmae’ (2020), in collaboration with the famous guitarist Edin Karamazov.
In addition to collaborating with Božo Vrećo, Edin Karamazov also worked with Sting and many other performers such as Elvis Costello, Jordie Savall, Renée Fleming and Stefan Milenković.
