Presentation of the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Project in Slovenia

The official presentation of the project of national importance ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ in Slovenia began in the Parish House in Ljubljana and will last until the end of October.

Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture will be presented through a series of events in the following cities: Novo Mesto, Kočevje, Celje, Maribor, Lendava, Ljubljana, Postojna and Koper, organised by the Union of Serbs in Slovenia.


Representatives of the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation attended the presentation of the project in Ljubljana, including Sara Vuletić, programme director of the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation, who talked about the concept of the programme for the title year and stressed the most significant projects that will be implemented in 2022.

In addition to programme director, Vladimir Kokanović, president of the Union of Serbs in Slovenia, and Jelena Marinković Radomirović, the President of the City Assembly of Novi Sad, addressed the audience. Dalibor Rožić, the member of the City Council in charge of culture, Aleksandar Gatalica, the first advisor in the Embassy of Serbia in Slovenia, and representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church and other individuals from public life in Slovenia. After introductory speeches, members of the Youth Theatre from Novi Sad performed the ‘Putovanje sa Svetim Savom’ play.
