Members of the accessibility team of the City of Novi Sad visited the Svilara Cultural Station, as an example of good practice, within the trainings on the ‘EU for accessible public institutions’ project, funded by the European Union.
The focus of this two-day training was to get acquainted with examples from practice and the most common problems of accessibility measures and design for all, both in Serbia and in EU member states, with appropriate discussions.
Having in mind that the City of Novi Sad, one of the few cities in Serbia that offers accessible public spaces, was deliberately chosen as a city that should serve as an example to other local governments in Serbia.
Over 20 participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the positive examples of the city of Novi Sad in the field of accessibility. A tour of the Svilara Cultural Station, the Matica Srpska Gallery, Great Liman, the University Campus and a number of accessible intersections in the city enabled participants to see concrete examples of how the concept of accessibility and design for all is implemented in practice.
