Representatives of the “Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture” Foundation participated in the annual meeting of UNESCO Creative Cities in the field of media arts, held from 21 to 25 October in Namur (Belgium), as part of the KIKK Festival – an international festival of creative and digital cultures.
Namur, the first Walloon city to be designated a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts in 2021, brought together delegations from nearly 20 cities worldwide – including European cities from Germany, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Portugal, and Serbia, as well as representatives from China, South Korea, the United States, and Colombia.
The meeting served as an opportunity to exchange experiences and examples of good practice, and to strengthen international cooperation among cities that use cultural and creative industries to develop their communities and promote sustainable urban growth.
The programme included working sessions, field visits, and networking activities during the KIKK Festival, which attracts around 25,000 visitors from more than 40 countries each year.
By taking part in this event, Novi Sad once again confirmed its active role within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, promoting contemporary art, new media, and innovative cultural approaches, as well as collaboration between artists, institutions, and the technology sector.
