29/09/2022

The final, applied arts week of the Kaleidoscope of Culture starts with the fourth Design Pavilion, which will be held at SPENS, the giant of Novi Sad’s modernist architecture, from 30 September to 7 October.

At the very end of the Kaleidoscope of Culture, the audience will get the chance to meet over 300 most significant artists in graphic design, photography and fashion. The plateaus of SPENS will become places for artistic spatial installations, that depict, complement and emphasise the monumentality of this modernist building. Consequently, the visitors will be able to see the gigantic audio-visual installations made of balloons by the Berlin duo Plastique Fantastique named Double Heart, while the world-famous artist, the favourite creator on the GIPHY platform, Miloš Rajković Šolim will open the exhibition of GIFs Sholim’s (Sur)real World.

As part of the spoken programme, the audience will listen to the lecture ‘Me and You and Everyone We Know’, by one of the biggest stars of illustration, a favourite of famous companies such as Apple, The New Yorker and Montreux Jazz – Malika Favre.

Within this year’s Design Pavilion, the University of Applied Arts from Vienna will present their projects and research Die Angewandte, Korak studio, Marina Milanović, winner of the Neven and Zlatno Pero awards, Hesoyam – Endo collective, Chenipe, Leaf, Quam, Mad flavour collective, pioneer of regional graffiti scenes of Rosh Panonsky and many others. In addition, original design solutions in the field of furniture design, lighting and objects for everyday use from North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, and Montenegro are coming to Novi Sad.

Furthermore, as in previous years, we will attend an exhibition where 100 local artists from the field of applied art will be presented, and this time this includes Ivana Radmanovac, Mane Radmanović, Slavimir Stojanović Futro, Jana Oršolić, Irena Gajić, Senka Radović and Kosta Dimitrijević, Ivana Horvat, Nikola Stojadinović and Manuela Pauk and others.

The audience will, among other things, enjoy the PDP conference, numerous exhibitions, spatial installations, street art, film and music programmes, as well as children’s programmes. Current stars of the international design scene will participate in the spoken programme of the Design Pavilion, while young artists will have the opportunity to improve their skills through practical workshops.
