Doček 31 December – Light Spectacle in the Suburbium
For the second year in a row, Novi Sad will enter the New Year according to the Gregorian calendar with a specific artistic concept that, in addition to performing, also represents visual arts. This year as well, this is achieved through cooperation with local and international visual artists who will be in charge of the unique appearance of the stage, but also through three exhibitions dedicated to Serbian scientists. These are the large-scale multimedia endeavors in honor of our greats – the Tesla Light Gallery, and two exhibitions by artist Dušan Jovović, PhD, who was inspired by the brilliant minds of Milutin Milanković and Mileva Marić Einstein. He created the unusual, new media exhibitions ‘Milutin: Time and Universe’ in Studio M and ‘Mileva: We Are One Rock’ in the City Museum of Novi Sad, at the Petrovaradin Fortress. The exclusive partner of the ‘Mileva: We Are One Rock’ exhibition is Erste Bank. Admission to both exhibitions on 31 December is free of charge, but registration is required. For professional guidance for the ‘Milutin: Time and Universe’ exhibition, the audience can apply via the link, while applications for the ‘Mileva: We are a rock’ exhibition can be found here.
A special visual experience on 31 December will be accompanied by the performances of the famous British trio Kosheen, the winners of the BRIT Award — Stereo MC’s, the favorites of the Berlin clubs – DJ Biesmans, one of the biggest and most popular vocal bands in the world — Perpetuum Jazzile, as well as the performances by famous local alternative bands Repetitor, Obojeni Program, Monohrom and others. Admission to the programmes on 31 December in the Suburbium of the Petrovaradin Fortress is free of charge.
