The final selection for the European Capital of Culture in 2021 is getting closer, and Novi Sad is in the final, too. After more than successfully held the „Four cultural events“ during summer where four program „bridges“ which symbolize the concept of Novi Sad candidacy for European Capital of Culture under the slogan “4 new bridges” were presented, the „Novi Sad 2021″ Team has prepared a new, final“ four cultural events“.
In order to decentralize cultural offer, which also presents a part of the Strategy of Cultural Development of the city, which should be adopted at the forthcoming Assembly of the City of Novi Sad, and which is a precondition for candidacy of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture in 2021, the association „Novo kulturno naselje“ has organized the second film festival named „21114 „. Two locations in Novo naselje were stages on which representative films of domestic production were presented, as well as international film festival which changes the perspective of looking at life and talk about love, friendships, family, dilemmas „Seize the day / Seize the film „and“ Film front „, international festival of short films which promotes young filmmakers and independent productions. Among other things, the audience had the opportunity to see new achievements of Mirjana Karanovic „Good wife“ and Nikola Ljuca „Humidity“.
Of course, „21114“ Film Festival was an ideal opportunity to once again promote the „bridge“ Hope, which is one of the four parts of the program and is dedicated to cultural capacities and public spaces. The concept of Novi Sad candidacy for European Capital of Culture, under the slogan „4 new bridges“ will be promoted through another three cultural events which will present the three remaining „bridges“. From August 29th to September 15th Bel Art Gallery will be the host of the International Festival of Contemporary Art „Danube Dialogues“ with the theme „Art in an environment of global uncertainty.“ Regional Literary Conference „Book Talk“ will be organized in Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection on September 1st and 2nd. And from September 2nd to October 14th at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina and in organization of the British Council and the London Gallery Paul Stolper the exhibition „New Religion“ by Damien Hirst will be held.
The European Capital of Culture was established in order to highlight the richness and diversity of European cultures, connect people from different European countries and meet other cultures.
