‘Novi Sad 2021’ Promoted at the Tourism Fair in China
03/03/2017

Earlier this year, ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ project was presented at two important tourism fairs – in Belgrade, as the biggest tourism fair in the region, and at one of the most important tourism fairs in China – GITF 2017 fair, which was held between 23 and 25 February in Guangzhou, the capital of the Guangdung province.

The promotion of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ project at the Tourism Fair in China was held thanks to a successful cooperation with the Tourist Organisation of Vojvodina, which presented tourist offers of both Vojvodina and Serbia at the GITF 2017 International Tourism Fair.

The conference of Balkan countries on the topic of tourist offer of the Balkans was held during the GITF 2017 fair. This conference briefly presented the countries of ex-Yugoslavia. Nataša Pavlović, the manager of the Tourist Organisation of Vojvodina, presented the key tourist products of Serbia and Vojvodina. Two of these are the tourist offer of Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture in 2021, and the EXIT festival, as one of the best music festival in Europe.

Presentation of tourists potentials in China is very important, since the Republic of Serbia enabled visa-free regime for the citizens of China. Furthermore, a direct air line should be established later this year. It was previously arranged for the Chinese national television to visit Serbia in order to prepare promotional TV spots that will present tourist potentials of both Serbia and of Novi Sad to their viewers.

We would like to remind that earlier this week, in the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, several capital infrastructure projects were presented to Chinese investors. These projects are planned to be implemented in Novi Sad in the following years. A significant part of the promotion was dedicated to the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ project and perhaps the most important infrastructure segments of the project – adaptation of the Suburbium of the Petrovaradin Fortress, and construction of the future Youth Creative Polis in the so called Chinese Quarter.
