The Novi Sad Voluntary Service, joint project of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ and European Youth Capital 2019, was presented during the Volunteer Fair at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad.
On Monday, 5 March, there was unprecedented crowd around stands of organisations that presented the work they do with volunteers in the hall of the Faculty of Philosophy. Furthermore, the response of students at participation in the workshop of the Novi Sad Voluntary Service entitled ‘Using Voluntary Work to Get a Job’ was excellent. The participants had a chance to learn about motives and benefits of voluntary work, as well as how will they be able to use the new platform for volunteers. In addition to this, the attendees could hear more about the European Capital of Culture and European Youth Capital, and more about how to improve their knowledge, skills and possibilities through voluntary work in different programmes that are offered by European projects of the two capitals.
Participants of the workshop, representatives of several faculties in Novi Sad, used this opportunity to invite members of the two capitals, to present their projects and Novi Sad Voluntary Service at forums in front of all students, so that they could hear something new and useful about this project.
The Novi Sad Voluntary Service is a unique platform that will provide completely new and different organisation of volunteer work, which will have its purpose and goal by taking into account the needs and wishes of volunteers with professional accomplishment. It is envisaged as a legacy project that will remain to the city of Novi Sad after the title years and in order to organise the work of volunteers.
