10/10/2018

The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation supported another curator from Novi Sad with the aim of professional training within the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project. Ms Stanislava Jovanović, curator of the Gallery of Matica Srpska will stay in Krems (Austria) from 30 September until 13 October, where she will have a chance to see the work of the Kunstmeile – umbrella organisation of the museum, artistic spaces and programmes in Krems.

Ms Stanislava Jovanović will see the work of several museums in Krems and establish cooperation with museum experts from the Lower Austria within the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project for co-financing mobility of cultural managers and cultural and artistic workers in 2018

Ms Stanislava Jovanović graduated from the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade in 2015 on the topic of the ‘Sculpture of Virgin Mary Studenica Church and Its Impact on Latter Serbian and Architectural Plastic’. She currently works in Department for Programme and Presentation, preparing data for documentation, catalogues etc. She was associate at several exhibitions: ‘Albrecht Dürer and His Associates’, ‘The Triumphal Procession of Emperor Maximilian’ (2015), ‘Ivanka Acin Gift Collection’ (2017), ‘Arsenije Teodorovic and Serbian Church in Budim’ (2017). She worked as the expert associate in preparation of publications of the Gallery of Matica Srpska. She is one of the associates in implementation of the ‘HearMe. Bringing Youth and Museums Together’ European project dedicated to young people (2016-2917).

During her stay in Krems, Ms Stanislava will have a chance to see how different departments of the Kunstmeile work – the department for education, communication and marketing, as well as the development department. She will also have a chance to visit construction of the State Gallery of Lower Austria for the first time. The visit is also a chance to exchange experience and meet contemporary practice in artistic creativity, as well as current practice of presentation of artistic works.

The aims of the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project within which this exchange has been organised, are improving mobility, international cultural cooperation and building institutional and administrative capacities in cultural institutions on the territory of the city of Novi Sad and municipalities of Sremski Karlovci, Beočin and Irig.
This is the first call organised in Novi Sad that promotes mobility of cultural workers and it is the part of a broader strategy of internationalisation of cultural scene carried out by the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation.

Within the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project, the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation supported 13 managers working in public cultural institutions and organisations by providing funds for projects of professional trainings abroad.
