10/10/2018

Ms Slavica Vučetić, actress from the Novi Sad Youth Theatre visited the Alfa Theatre in Plzeň (Czech Republic) within the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project in the period from 1 until 7 October. This exchange is one of the 13 projects of professional training abroad supported by the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation within the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project for co-financing mobility of cultural managers and cultural and artistic workers in 2018.

Ms Slavica Vučetić graduated from the studies of acting in the class of prof. Vida Ognjenović and prof. Ljubosav Majera at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2006. After bachelor studies, she finished her MA studies at the UNESO Department for Cultural Policy and Management of the University of Arts in Belgrade. She is a full-time member of the Youth Theatre ensemble since 2007, and she cooperated on performances of the Serbian National Theatre, Ship Theatre and SCC. Ms Slavica was the member of the City Council of the ‘ASSITEJ’ International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People Serbia. She won the ‘Milena Sadžak’ award for the best young actor at the Festival of Puppet Theatre of Serbia in Zemun in 2005; ‘Predrag Tomanović’ award for the best graduate student of acting from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2006. She also won the LUT FEST awards in Sarajevo for several roles in the ‘’Fairy Tale about Knight without a Horse’ in 2013.

The Alfa Theatre is a puppet theatre with remarkable reputation among puppet theatres within international frames. Diverse puppet techniques are used in the work in order to address audience of different ages. Working as an actress in theatre that fosters puppet scene, her stay in the Alfa Theatre will help her improve her artistic work, learn more about animation of puppets and puppet shows dedicated to different target groups. The Alfa Theatre is also the potential partner of the Youth Theatre on international projects, and as an active participant of the ‘Plzeň – European Capital of Culture 2015’ project, it could serve as the model for involvement of Youth Theatre in the projects of the Foundation.

The aims of the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project within which this exchange has been organised, are improving mobility, international cultural cooperation and building institutional and administrative capacities in cultural institutions on the territory of the city of Novi Sad and municipalities of Sremski Karlovci, Beočin and Irig. This is the first call organised in Novi Sad that promotes mobility of cultural workers and it is the part of a broader strategy of internationalisation of cultural scene carried out by the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation.
