Ethno diva Amira Medunjanin (BIH) will perform in Novi Sad for the first time with the Symphony Orchestra of Vojvodina (Serbia) conducted by Alan Bjelinski (Croatia), performing sevdah and classical music on Jovan Đorđević stage of the Serbian National Theatre on Friday, 14 December at 8 p.m.
The concert within the ‘At the Crossroads’ project is implemented by the Musical Youth of Novi Sad and Symphony Orchestra of Vojvodina with the support of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation.
This music spectacle is created in order to establish new relations using the music and strengthen existing cooperation on the regional artistic scene. Managers of the project strive to contribute to popularisation of high quality music focusing on traditional sound on one hand, and innovative interpretations of heritage and work with audience on the other, by presenting artists who foster special attitude towards tradition and come from different regions of former Yugoslavia.
The ‘At the Crossroads’ project is part of the Bid-Book that brought the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation this prestigious title, and the concert is so-called announcement of exciting holiday events that citizens of Novi Sad can expect.
