After New York, Beijing and Hong Kong, Novi Sad has the privilege of hosting one of the most significant exhibitions of design entitled ‘Swiss Style Now’ that will be opened in the Railway Station Hall tonight, on 17 September, at 8:21 p.m. (20:21).
The exhibition shows the contemporary Swiss-style trends as well as unusual printing techniques and high-quality of the exhibits.
The authors of the exhibition, the ‘Neo Neo’ studio, Erich Brechbühl, Noël Leu, and Alexander Tochilovsky from Switzerland, seeks to acquaint the audience with modern Swiss design through this exhibition, which consists of more than 320 works, posters, books, magazines, vinyl records and flyers.
One of our most famous graphic designers – Slavimir Stojanović Futro will explain why Swiss design is still a favourite among experts and what makes it recognisable to visitors.
The exhibition is implemented in cooperation with the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ and PDP Conference of creative media. It will be open until 15 October.
The Railway Station is also going to be the place of presentation of the ‘This Building Truly Talks’ project by Filip Jovanovski, the winner of the 14th Prague Quadrennial. The performance within the project is scheduled for 22 September at 12 p.m. and 8 p.m., and for 23 and 24 September at 12 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The ‘Kaleidoscope of Culture’ is the programme arch of the ‘Nov Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ project, which turns Novi Sad into the ‘city of scene’ at more than 80 locations from 24 to 30 August. Part of the ‘Kaleidoscope of Culture’ are Street Musicians Festival – Gradić Fest, Piano City, Festival of Chamber Music, etc.
It connects spaces and programmes, as well as the actors themselves: the ‘Kaleidoscope’ presents a unique image of the diversity of Novi Sad through multiple arts, with its cultural institutions, non-institutional scene, artists and citizens themselves. With more than 400 programmes, everyone will have a chance to design their own kaleidoscope of culture.
