The ‘European Youth Engagement Network – EYE-Net’ project, whose holder and coordinator is the ’Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation, was successfully implemented in cooperation with 15 other partner organisations from the region and Europe.
The project was launched in September 2018 with the idea of educating and activating young people through the creation of five youth theatre performances whose thematic basis is the values of the European Union.
The aim of the project was to acquaint young people with the political history, values and problems of the European Union by using art and culture as adequate methods for non-formal education. The aim of the project was also to improve the quality of youth culture, as well as to improve political awareness, critical thinking and international solidarity of young people.
Seven international activities were implemented during the project.
Project activities started in Sremski Karlovci (Novi Sad, Serbia), followed by events in Varaždin (Croatia), Padua (Italy), then in Novi Sad (Serbia), Maribor (Slovenia), Pécs (Hungary) and finally in Subotica (Serbia).
