Igor Pavlović, actor of the Serbian National Theatre, is one more cultural worker on an exchange within the ‘Out of the Comfot Zone’ project of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation.
Igor participates at 10th Michael Chekhov International Summer Academy that will be held from 4 until 12 August in the Croatian city of Grožnjan, where he will present values fostered by the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ project.
The topic of this year’s workshop is ‘Communication with the Audience: Giving – Receiving – Sharing’. Participants are coming from different countries across Europe, while lecturers are Ted Pugh (USA), Jessica Cerullo, (USA), Dawn Arnold (USA), Jesper Michelsen (Denmark), Ulrich Meyer–Horsch (Germany) and Suzana Nikolić, Croatia.
Meeting various cultures, common desire to explore, seek inspiration and learn, create a unique atmosphere of this summer workshop.
The aim of this exchange is to raise awareness about the need of such workshops in Serbia and, in the perspective, to establish an experimental drama studio within the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad.
International Summer Academy works under the patronage of the ‘StudioChekhov Croatia’, the member of the ‘Michael Chekhov Europe’ organisation and has organised workshops with the most famous lecturers of the Chekhov Acting Technique in Europe and world for 10 years.
The aims of the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project are improving mobility, improving international cultural cooperation and increasing institutional and administrative capacities in cultural institutions on the territory of the city of Novi Sad and municipalities of Sremski Karlovci, Beočin and Irig.
This is the first call organised in Novi Sad that promotes mobility of cultural workers and it is part of a broader strategy of internationalisation of cultural scene carried out by the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation.
The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation within the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project, supported 13 managers working in public cultural institutions and organisations by providing funds for projects of professional trainings abroad.
