The implementation of the ‘Walk Through the History of Design in Vojvodina (1945 – 1985)’ project with the topic of emergence and development of industrial and graphic design in Vojvodina after the World War II until the mid ‘80s, will begin with numerous lectures, workshops and exhibitions, on Thursday, 23 May.
The project, which is implemented within the ‘Audience in Focus’ public call of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation, aims at promoting representative examples of design heritage of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, through interactive programmes that should attract as many visitors as possible to come to the Gallery of Fine Arts – Gift Collection of Rajko Mamuzić. The content of the Gallery includes works of high art, which mirror with the period of design practice that will be presented on this occasion.
Creative workshop for children ‘Packaging Design for Foodstuff’, which will be led by graphic designer and professor of art classes, Nenad S. Lazić, will be held in the Gallery of Fine Arts – Gift Collection of Rajko Mamuzić, while the first name of Yugoslav design, Vojislav Terzić, will give a lecture on the topic of ‘History of Design in Vojvodina (1945 – 1985)’ on the same day, at 6:30 p.m.
Terzić’s lecture for interested audience will discover the spirit of yore, laced with creative enthusiasm of the post-war generation of creative locals. Being one of the rare, remaining witnesses and active participants, he will take the audience to the early stages of formation of this profession on our territory, and then guide them through almost all important stages of its development.
The project will continue, and several extraordinary lectures, interesting workshops and exhibitions, which remind us of the golden era of development of industrial and graphic design in Vojvodina after the World War II until the mid ‘80s, will be organised by the end of the year.
