The ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation launched the Public Call for co-financing cooperation programmes with Japan, with the aim to enrich the 2022 programme, while three projects that will be implemented in Novi Sad and its surroundings in the title year were selected.
In order to connect better with Japanese culture and art scenes, the Foundation established the cooperation with the EU-Japan Fest, organisation that was founded in 1992 with the aim to promote Japanese culture and art in Europe. EU-Japan Fest wanted to support cooperation projects with Japanese artists and organisations that fit in with the programme concept in the title year.
The following projects have been selected:
1. ‘The 7th International Festival of the Accordion and Chamber Music – Eufonia’, proponent Eufonia Association of Citizens
2. ‘Metroplex 2022 – 2122’, proponent Novo Kulturno Naselje
3. ‘The 9th Japanese-Serbian Film Festival (JSFF), proponent CULTCRAVE Association for development of art and culture
The selected programmes are in line with the programme concept and artistic vision ‘For New Bridges’ that have been developed by the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation and will be part of the programmes arches Heroines, Kaleidoscope of Culture and Other? Europe in the title year.
We remind that the last cycle of the public call for financial support for local artists and cultural workers for implementation of a study and a research trip to Japan within the ‘Kizuna’ exchange programme is open until 31 August. Find information about the call here.
