Around 15 high school students from six national communities attended two-day workshop organised within the ‘Cultural Heritage through My Lens’ project, which was held in Novi Sad on 10 and 11 November. The project is organised by the Institute for Culture of Ruthenians in Vojvodina with the support of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation. The aim of the project is to contribute the formation of personal identity of young people and preservation of their cultural heritage.
The project will endeavour to build proactive relationship between young people and cultural institutions through participation in cultural events and future audience development. During the project, young representatives from Wallachian, Czech, Bunjevci, Serbian, Ruthenian and Roma communities participated in social workshops about identity in multinational environment. They also visited the most important architectural buildings in Novi Sad on Sunday morning (11 November), which are the proof of multicultural life of the European Capital of Culture 2021.
At the end of November, the same students will participate in photography workshops in order to encourage their creative expression through their favourite media, photography.
The end of the project was planned for mid-2019 when six national communities will organise the photo exhibition, which will be held in Petrovac, Bela Crkva, Subotica and Novi Sad.
