A total of 141 applications were received at the Public Call for strengthening the local art scene within the ‘Artists. Now!’ project, during the month-long competition for legal and natural persons performing artistic or other activities in the field of culture and artistic creation, with permanent or temporary residence in the City of Novi Sad and ‘Zone 021’.
The call offers the possibility of co-financing artistic projects and the selected applicants will receive maximum RSD 150.000 per project. The jury expressed satisfaction both with the number of received applications and the quality of artistic proposals. The applications are being processed, and the results will be published on the official website of the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation by Monday, 3 August. The selected programmes will be implemented in the coming period, in accordance with the epidemiological situation, while respecting the measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The public call covered various areas, from scenic and performing arts, through fine, applied, visual arts, design and architecture, to programmes related to film art and audio-visual creation, as well as digital creation and multimedia.
Let us remind that a total of 22 artistic projects for which, according to the public call grants of RSD 75,000 dinars have been allocated, are being implemented in cultural stations throughout Novi Sad and its surroundings, but also online, through the social networks of cultural stations. Aims of the ‘Artists. Now!’ project of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation are to strengthen Novi Sad cultural scene through a network of cultural stations, raising its capacities, decentralisation of culture and audience development.
