Cultural Corner: Exhibition of a Professor with Many Talents
28/02/2020

How can art become a hobby and how can everyday objects and the living world become a work of art? This is shown by the ‘Assemblage’ exhibition by Damir Malešev, professor of philosophy, which will be opened in the Cultural Corner (Sentandrejski Put no. 106b) on 3 March at 7 p.m.

Damir Malešev, a talented professor working at ‘Isidora Sekulić’ Grammar School, poet and essay writer, translator of foreign rock songs, who has published two poetry collections and two poetry books (Korean poetry and Beatles anthology), began to deal with art about 20 years ago.

His current focus of interest in the arts is assemblage (sculpture technique), and in the upcoming exhibition, striving to show simplicity and clarity of expression, he is inspired by Picasso’s ‘Bull’s Head’ and the commonly known Snowman as archetypal assemblage.

Numerous objects from the everyday environment have been renamed to the new world of birds, insects, human faces and figures, and original chess sets will be displayed as well as pictograms made up of Cyrillic letters.

Exhibition is open until 7 March and the entrance is free.

You can find more information about the exhibition on the facebook event.
