The Danube as inspiration, humour and common language – this gathered artists who worked on the ‘Danube Cartoons’ international touring exhibition, which will be held in Novi Sad in the Svilara Cultural Station on 6 July at 7 p.m.
The exhibition will be opened until 15 July, and the entrance is free.
The Danube is a unique symbol of connecting Europe since it runs through ten different countries, which means that ten different cultures and nations have lived along the river for centuries. For that reason, the works have been inspired by the Danube from different points of view – culture, ecology and economy.
The exhibition consists of 20 works, cartoons, and the authors say that humour is a universal language that makes us stronger, helps in difficult situations, changes our perspective and magnificently connect people.
The artists who work on the international touring exhibition come from ten countries – Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine and Serbia.
The exhibition arrived in Novi Sad thanks to the cooperation between the ‘Novi Sad 2021– European Capital of Culture’ project and the Department of Arts and Culture of Lower Austria.
