Today, as part of the preparation of the candidacy of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture, delegation from Dortmund, members of the Program Council, Organisation Board and expert team of Novi Sad 2021 held a meeting.

Member of the City Council in charge of culture Vanja Vučenović, Chairman of the Program Council Momčilo Bajac, as well as members of delegation from Dortmund: Manager of Cultural Institutions Kurt Eichler, Director of the Cultural Bureau Claudia Kokoschka, and Officer for International Cooperation and Projects in the Cultural Bureau Burkhard Rinsche chaired the meeting. Other members of the Program Council and Organisation Board were also present.

Having in mind that Rurh region, which includes the City of Dortmund, was the European Capital of Culture in 2010, this meeting was an excellent opportunity for discussion and exchange of ideas on the topic of European Capital of Culture. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr Vanja Vučenović said that these meetings are crucial, because they will be of great help in preparation of the city’s candidacy. He added that the cooperation with the city of Dortmund, which has lasted for years, will bi strengthened with new projects that will help Novi Sad win the prestigious title.

The results of the Board and Council were presented during the meeting, together with ideas that will be realised in the following period. Besides this, guests from Dortmund shared their experience and offered advice that could be hеlpful for winning the title. Furthermore, the members of the team Ruhr.2010 offered support to the initiative of the city, and there was also a discussion about possible future projects in the field of culture that would be realised in cooperation between these two twin towns.
