Novi Sad 2021 team received yesterday an appreciation from the Mayor of the Greek city of Larissa, Mr. Apostolos Kalogiannis, for the support they gave Larisa candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2021. He stressed that the support of Novi Sad is very important in the candidacy process, since the meeting of the panel on which it will be decided which greek cities will head to the finals, will be held on February 24th.

Let us remind that the Project Director of Larissa 2021, George Sarlis, participated in the press conference of support for Novi Sad for ECOC in September last year, which was very important at the moment. All former, current and future capitals of culture, as well as candidates for this prestigious title, form one big family in which mutual support, assistance and cooperation are the greatest achievements of this project. Just through networking and joint projects, the citizens of these cities, and Europe as a whole, can improve their lives, not only in cultural but also in social and economic terms. The title of ECOC gives us a chance and a good reason for maximum commitment, good will and positive energy to do something for ourselves and for the city.

We can only sincerely hope that the outcome of the panel will be positive for Larisa and that we will continue to cooperate until the winning of the title. It will be known by the end of this year.
