The ‘Lonely Planet’ Declared Novi Sad the Top Destination in 2019

‘The ‘Lonely Planet’, famous tourist guide and magazine, declared Novi Sad as one of the three top city-destinations for tourism in 2019!

Elegant yet easy-going, Novi Sad basks in the limelight, defying its second-city status’, as written in ‘Lonely Planet’.

Spending relaxing afternoon at the sandy beach Štrand and green heaven of Ribarsko ostrvo, as well as enjoying the gastronomic party in traditional Vojvodina café present unforgettable experience in the city recommended by the experts of this magazine.

Mr Tom Hall, editor in chief of the ‘Lonely Planet’ magazine, said that Novi Sad rightfully has the global acknowledgement.

‘Having in mind that the city is the European Youth Capital 2019, the Petrovaradin Citadel’s Lower Town is getting a facelift, and the dilapidated Kineska quarter has blossomed into an alternative-culture district. He added that extraordinary Austro-Hungarian architecture of Novi Sad, numerous galleries, museums and theatres are the proof why this destination is worth seeing’, as Mr Hall said, and it was stated in the communication of TOS.

Novi Sad is on the third place on the list of the best city destinations in 2019.

National Tourism Organisation of Serbia said that they are proud of Novi Sad and new international acknowledgement it gets as the tourist destination.

Ms Marija Labović, Director, said that, the long-term promotion lead by partner organisations, the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia and Tourist Organisation of the City of Novi Sad, as well as the ‘Serbia Best in Travel 2015’ acknowledgement, are either the acknowledgement for the position of Novi Sad in the previous period, or incentive for further promotional activities in order to invite as many tourists to Serbia.
