The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation supported another curator to visit Croatia with the aim of professional training within the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project.
Ms Milica Orlović Čobanov, Head of the Museum Department of Memorial Collection of Pavle Beljanski, participated in 10th congress of museum pedagogues of Croatia organised by the Croatian Museum Association in cooperation with the Antun Gojak Town Gallery in Makarska from 7 until 10 November.
Ms Milica Orlović Čobanov, by participating at this Congress, had a chance to train and acquire new knowledge and skills in the field of museum education, and exchange experiences with colleagues from other museums.
Ms Milica Orlović Čobanov graduated from the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. She works as a curator-pedagogue in the Memorial Collection of Pavle Beljanski in Novi Sad since April 2002. Since 2011, she is the Head of the Museum Department of Memorial Collection of Pavle Beljanski. She is in charge of coordination of the research team of Memorial Collection, activities related to pedagogic and educational work and preparation and implementation of educational, informative and advertising material in PR. She has been the creator of Children Workshops of Memorial Collection since 2003: Graphics in the Memorial Collection, Mosaics in the Memorial Collection, A Story in a Cartoon, Collage and Something More, Games and Fantasies, Small, but Big People; painter with distinctive stroke, as well as the annual exhibitions of 2002-2010 works by students from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in atelier of Nadežda Petrović and Vidosava Kovačević. She has been working on several individual projects: Pavle Beljanski Collection – At Home and Abroad (2003), Pavle Beljanski – Diplomacy and Art (2005) and Pavle Beljanski Distinctions Collection (2009), Touch and Feel: 10 artistic works from Pavle Beljanski Collection (2014), project for the blind and visually impaired. She is a winner of the award of ICOM National Committee for the project of the year, the exhibition of Pavle Beljanski Collection: Back in Belgrade (2011), as a co-author of the project, together with Dr Jasna Jovanov, Manager of the Memorial Collection of Pavle Beljanski. She bore the title of chief curator with the topic of Curator Practices, in search of new communications in 2013. She is the member of the Museum Association of Serbia and NC ICOM Serbia.
The aims of the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project within which this exchange has been organised, are improving mobility, international cultural cooperation and building institutional and administrative capacities in cultural institutions on the territory of the city of Novi Sad and municipalities of Sremski Karlovci, Beočin and Irig. This is the first call organised in Novi Sad that promotes mobility of cultural workers and it is the part of a broader strategy of internationalisation of cultural scene carried out by the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation.
Within the ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ project, the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation supported 13 managers working in public cultural institutions and organisations by providing funds for projects of professional trainings abroad.
