The artistic residential programme in Plovdiv, this year’s European Capital of Culture, is a new opportunity for artists to travel, find inspiration and implement their ideas.

During the residence, in the period from August until October, the selected artist will stay in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where he/she will have a task to design one or more artistic works that will be created and presented within the Plovdiv 2019 – European Capital of Culture.

In order to apply, artists should work in the following artistic fields: visual art, digital media, architecture, performance art, art in public spaces, design, etc.

The residential programme in Plovdiv is being implemented within the ‘Plants AiR’ programme of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’, in cooperation with the ‘ADATA AiR’ organisation in Plovdiv.

The ‘ADATA AiR’ organisation has the artistic residential programme that is being implemented in Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture for 2019, similar to the ‘Plants AiR’ programme. The goal of the programme is to enable the space for creative exchange and give artists the chance to travel and create by finding the inspiration in other spaces and cultures and exchange experience with artists from other European Capitals of Culture.
