The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ at the 46. Infant Festival
20/06/2019

In cooperation with the two European Capitals of Culture, Novi Sad and Matera, the ‘Human Shame’ theatre play will be performed in the Youth Theatre on 29 June at 9 p.m. within the International Festival of Alternative and New Theatre. Entrance is free.

The play, implemented by #reteteatro41 artists, deals with the topic of shame, both common and personal. The play is of an interdisciplinary character and connects dance and acting, and mostly is inspired by stories of the prisoners that face the shame in different manners. Questions about shame are being discussed – the shame a person feels because of his appearance, family, background, failure, difference…

The performance plays with unexpected elements and contact with the audience, explores the concept of individual and joint performance, and turns the body into a story.
Each performance differs depending on the place and audience.

‘Happy Manif: The Sunny Side of Dance’ – Audience Becomes a Performer

Two parks in Novi Sad, Futoški and Dunavski, will transform into dance floors on Sunday, 30 June.

No matter your dancing skills, you are welcome to take part in the ‘Happy Manif: The Sunny Side of Dance’ performance within the Infant Festival and in cooperation with the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ and the French Institute. The programme is suitable for children of 7 age and older accompanied by parents, and the entrance is free.

Choreographers David Rolland and Valeria Giuga will lead the performance and invite the audience to join the dance by following instructions through the headphones in Serbian. The first performance is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. in Futoški Park, and the second one for 6:30 p.m. in Dunavski Park.

The participants will actually enjoy nature and establish a relationship with it, which is one of the goals of the ‘Happy Manif’ dance performance, which always takes place in a natural environment – parks, forests and fields. The performance will take the audience, which becomes a performer, through the history of dance, from classical to contemporary.

The performance is implemented with the support of Teatroskop programme, founded by the French Institute, Ministry of Culture of the French Republic and Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.
