On Sunday, 5 July, at the opening of ‘Dunav Dance’ First International Folklore Dance Festival of the Danube Region, which was organised by the ‘Sonja Marinković’ Academic Cultural and Artistic Society, members of folklore ensembles from Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Bulgaria carried the banner with the motto ‘What is your Novi Sad like in 2021?’ in the old core of the city. In this way, young dancers from folklore ensembles invited citizens and visitors of Novi Sad to think about the future of the city and to actively participate in the candidacy process.

This international festival is envisaged as a way to promote multiculturality of the Danube Region with the goal to show our tradition and rich cultural heritage to foreigners, which will undoubtedly help Novi Sad on its way to the title of European Capital of Culture in 2021.
