Novi Sad Commemorates the Sight Day by Looking with Hearts
17/10/2018

The World Sight Day commemorated within the ‘Eyes of the Heart’ programmes that were organised during the whole day at several locations in Novi Sad on 15 October. The commemoration culminated with the evening concert in the Synagogue, with the focus on bringing the topic closer to our fellow citizens.

A couple of daily programmes were organised within musical and dramatic programmes, followed up by the film screening about pianist Uglješa Brkljač directed by Dušan Miletić, at several locations in the city (Student Square, plateau in front of the SPENS, Liberty Square) on 15 October. Bogdanov and Dragan Jajić Vladisavljev duet with the ‘Kreativni Pogon’ team featured artistic performances at the above mentioned locations in the city.

The main event was the evening concert in the Synagogue, where, besides Uglješa Brkljač, pianists Petra Spasojević, Rita Kinka, Ratimir Martinović, violoncellist Marko Miletić, clarinetist Aleksandar Tasić, ‘TAJJ’ string quartet and ‘Camerata Academica’ string quartet orchestra gave support to the blind and visually impaired. The concert started at 7 p.m. To enter the concert, visitors had to donate the blindfold. Collected funds will be used for education in movement of the blind and visually impaired and provide guide dogs.

The organisation of the ‘Eyes of the Heart’ programme was supported by the ‘NeoplantArt’ organisation and Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, and implementation of the programme was supported by the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation.
