According to the pole conducted by a research agency Ninamedia, among  1,200 respondents, the citizens of Novi Sad are satisfied with the number of cultural events in the city which is evidenced by an average rating of 3,7 on a scale from 1 to 5.

The official agency results show that one fourth of the citizens, precisely 23, 4 percent, named Exit as their favorite cultural event. Right behind it, with 18, 6 percent is children’s festival “Zmaj Children Games”. “The Festival of Street Musicians” is on the third place. For 6, 2 percent of the citizens the favorite cultural event is “Sterijino pozorje”

It should be pointed that this is not accidental. The fact is that Novi Sad allocates more funds for culture than any other local government in Serbia. Approximately 4.8 to 6 percent from the budget is annually allocated to culture, while other cities and the Republic itself allocate far less.

The results also show that Novi Sad fosters culture and is on a good way to gain the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture 2021.
