Petrovaradin Fortress in Focus: Call for Researchers

The call for research on 4 topics relevant for the development of the Petrovaradin Fortress and its surrounding area has been launched within the ‘Case Petrovaradin: Managing Historical City Cores’ project. The project is supported by the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation.

All interested researchers, research groups, research organisations and institutes are invited to apply to an open call within the project implemented by Europa Nostra Serbia, Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Novi Sad and Faculty for Sport and Tourism – TIMS from Novi Sad, in partnership with the Edinburgh World Heritage, Europa Nostra, and Global Observatory on the Historic Urban Landscape under the auspices of UNESCO. In the Year of European Cultural Heritage, the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation recognised the contribution that this project gives to distinguishing our historical and cultural values.

The call is open until 5 May 2018.

The first segment within the project ‘Case Petrovaradin: Managing Historical City Cores’ is entitled ‘Questioning’ and it is a call for research on 4 topics relevant to development of the Fortress and its surrounding area that are aimed at improving understanding of the current state and key challenges of managing and using cultural good of the Petrovaradin Fortress. The research will focus on: Purposes, ways of using and users of different spaces of the Petrovaradin Fortress; Management structures and interests and needs of different stakeholders; Existing interpretations of multi-layered heritage of Petrovaradin; Tourist valorisation and was of using the Petrovaradin Fortress. The budget for implementations of each of the four research is 100,000.00 RSD (gross).
