For cities Plzeň (Czech Republic) and Mons (Belgium) realisation of projects that have been carefully prepared for the last five years will soon begin. This year’s capitals of culture, as it was the case with previous ones, organised opening ceremonies.

Plzeň prepared three-day programme that starts with the warm up on Friday, 16 January, while the central opening ceremony will be held on Saturday, 17 January. The ceremony is divided in two parts – The Streams and The Symphony of Bells, and it will be accompanied by exhibitions, concerts and other events. The third day, entitled Enjoy Plzeň!, is dedicated to exploring the city.

Mons has prepared an opening party that will start at 6 p.m. on 24 January and it will last whole night! The party is a stroll, and visitors will be able to walk from one point to another, without predetermined itinerary, therefore people will have time to see all events.

Out of 30 events, 3 have a fixed schedule: Concerto de Public + Envolée Chromatique + Electronight organised by Pure FM + fireworks.
