Based on several months of research, and after consulting the representatives of work groups, members of the Board and team for the European Capital of Culture identified a very serious problem on the cultural scene of Novi Sad. It is the lack of coordination, i.e. lack of unique calendar of cultural manifestations on the territory of our city. This fact caused numerous problems to cultural workers in previous years and endangered and prevented many cultural manifestation due to overlapping, i.e. dissipation of Novi Sad audience. Taking this into consideration, Organisation Board and expert team for the European Capital of Culture initiated the production of a unique internet portal that would become a register of cultural manifestations in Novi Sad. In this way, we would have a clear picture about cultural events, free dates and the portal would prevent unnecessary overlapping and make the work of cultural stakeholders on the territory of our city easier. Furthermore, this is a transparent and clear overview of cultural offer of Novi Sad, and citizens have an easy access to cultural events.

‘CULT TOUR’ portal is envisaged as a long-term and interactive project, made for all citizens of Novi Sad and as a base of cultural events in our city. The citizens will be able to search events by category, location or date. In order to make search easier, events will be described by picture, map and date. The portal will be optimised for tablets and other mobile devices. Apart from making portal as a web page, it is planned to make an Android application for smart phones that will further facilitate using and access to information about cultural events for citizens of Novi Sad. This portal will be a service for all cultural institutions on the territory of our city, and they will be able to easily access and publish their events. Administrators will daily work on collecting all relevant data and on cooperation with the institutions.

The project will be realised in the first half of 2015. We would like use this opportunity to invite all cultural institutions, individuals, artists, governmental and non-governmental organisations and public enterprises in the field of culture and art to join and actively cooperate with members of the team that will contact them in early 2015 in order to collect necessary data about the events that are being organised, but also to contact the members of the Organisation Team by themselves via email info@novisad2021.rs in order to help us in making the register of cultural organisations on the territory of our city.
