Members of the jury comprising representatives of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ project and Alen Bešić, poet and editor of the ‘Polja’ literary magazine, have a pleasure to announce that they selected Andrea Popov Miletić as a resident for the Pécs programme.
Andrea Popov Miletić, representative of the young literary scene of Novi Sad, will reside in Pécs, a city that was the European Capital of Culture in 2010, from 15 November until 15 December. During her stay, she will have a chance to get to know the city of Pécs, local people, meet other writers and work on her manuscript.
Andrea Popov Miletić was born in Novi Sad, where she graduated from the Department for Comparative Literature. For several years she has worked for the ‘Dnevnik’ daily newspaper, where she wrote about city events, literature, environment, EU integration, academic community, marginalised groups, concerts and festivals.
For her short story collection entitled ‘Bezazlene crtice’ (Harmless Lines) she received an award in 2013 for the best prose text written in Serbian language by an author younger than 35 years.
