The ‘Young People and European Values’ project of the Know How Centre and one of the projects that is part of the Bid Book of the ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation, begins its implementation with the support of the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’, in cooperation with the ‘European Youth Capital – OPENS’ youth association of organisations.

The first step towards the implementation of the project is launching two calls.

The first call invites mentors, who would like to involve in the ‘European Mentorship for Young Creative People and Activists’ programme, to work on the promotion of European values by practical example, through mentorship work with high school students in the field of art and/or cultural management, personal development and education, as well as to encourage them to create their own project ideas. The call is envisaged to engage 5 mentors who will work on the following topics:

1. European values in culture – 3 mentors

2. My school and European values – 1 mentor

3. How do I foster European values? – 1 mentor

Deadline for application of interested mentors is 15 August. More information about the application.

The second call of the Know How Centre, in cooperation with the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation and ‘European Youth Capital – OPENS’ youth association of organisations, invites interested high school students from 16 to 18 years of age to become part of the ‘European Mentorship for Young Creative People and Activists’ programme.

The young, through work with mentors, will get a chance to be recognised as young creative leaders who will participate in cultural projects within the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ and activist projects of the ‘European Youth Capital – OPENS’ youth association of organisations.

High school students who are interested can apply until 15 September. More information.

The overall objective of the ‘Young People and European Values’ project is to contribute to the development of European cultural values in Novi Sad through investing in capacities of organisations and cultural institutions and creative potentials of children and young people. The target groups are high school students from Novi Sad and suburbs and members of vulnerable groups. The main purpose of the project is to improve activist potential of children and young people by involving them in the active participation in the process of preparation of Novi Sad for the year of the European Capital of Culture title, so that their peers could take responsibility for development of cultural values.
