The traditional 62nd Zmaj Children Games start today and they will last until 9 June. This year, they are the part of the ‘Future of Europe’ platform.
Zmaj Children Games will include 110 educational, artistic and entertainment programmes for children, which will be implemented in 30 locations in Novi Sad, among which is the Egység Cultural Station, where the youngest citizens of Novi Sad will have a chance to participate in art workshops on 6 and 7 June at 10 a.m.
Today, on the occasion of the opening of the 62nd Zmaj Children Games, from 5.30 p.m., the talks about the ‘Two and a Half Century of Serbian Literature for Children’ and ‘(Re)Shaping the Childhood’ by Zorana Opačić, will be organised. The author is the winner of ZCG Award for literature for children.
Afterwards, the ‘Retro 40s exhibition will be opened at 7 p.m. The exhibition shows illustrations for children books. The Egység Cultural Station will be the place of promotion of the two books for children on 4 June at 12 p.m. Those books are entitled ‘Twenty Poems for Children’ and ‘Vuče Vuče Bubo Lenja’.
The ‘Future of Europe’ platform will include educative and circus workshops, exhibitions, festivals, concerts, theatre plays and many other activities. The focus is on children and young fellow citizens, who will have the opportunity to find cultural content according to their interests, but also to engage in creating new, different cultural contents, to learn about European values and to show how they can contribute to cultural image of the city. More than 40 local and foreign organisations and cultural institutions are involved in the ‘Future of Europe’ platform. Programmes will last until 7 June, and detailed information can be found here.
