The ‘Superpowered’ programme is coming to an end on 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, through representing three types of art – music, poetry and film in three cultural spaces in Novi Sad, the future European Capital of Culture.
During the last ten days, the programme promoted openness, inclusion and equal chances of creating and enjoying cultural contents, with film screenings, choir performances, market, workshops and monodrama, as well as Divan, during which the accessibility of contents and institutions were discussed.
The Svilara Cultural Station presents young pianist Petra Spasojević
The audience will have a chance to enjoy works of world famous composers such as Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Merikanto during the performance of Petra Spasojević in the Svilara Cultural Station, on 3 December, the last day of the ‘Superpowered’ programme. Despite the visual impairment, the 15-year-old girl is an extraordinary pianist and she already has the highest honours at numerous pianist local and international competitions, among which she has the two Laureate titles at the ‘Pianist Festival’ in Sremska Mitrovica and at the ‘Isidor Bajić Festival’ in Novi Sad. Petra, who held her first soloist concert when she was only 12 years old, wants to show the world how boundaries and prejudices are broken down when you do what you love. The concert starts at 8 p.m.
Poetry night in the Egység Cultural Station
Despite they have different lives and use different styles of writing, their poetry is being connected with openness towards the dialogue with community and questioning the abilities of an individual to change the world. Poets who live and create in Novi Sad, will be connected with the ‘Superpowered’ programme within the Poetry night in the Egység Cultural Station on 3 December at 8 p.m. The authors who participate: Marija Obrovački, Siniša Tucić, Bojan Krivokapić, Sonja Jankov and Vitomirka Trebovac. The programme will be moderated by actress Olga Simić. The programme will be translated into the sign language.
The ‘Goran’ film screening in the Cultural Corner
The ‘Superpowered’ programme will end with the screening of short documentary entitled ‘Goran’, in the Cultural Corner, on 3 December at 7 p.m., after which, the audience will have a chance to discuss with the lead character – Goran Gostojić, citizen of Novi Sad. The film gives us an insight into joy of life, fears, loneliness, sociability, hope and pride, from Goran’s experience.
The ‘Superpowered’ programme is a part of the ‘Second Europe’ programme arch, which presents different, minority, hidden, but brave and evocative cultural and artistic scene of Novi Sad. It is supported by the ‘Novi Sad 2021 – European Capital of Culture’ and it will last until 15 December.
