Four local communities in the city will get new places: ‘Begeč’ local community, Omladinski Pokret’ local community, ‘Salajka’ local community and ‘Stari Ledinci’ local community are locations where projects created within the ‘New Places’ architectural-urbanistic call will be implemented.
The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation received more than 70 suggestions for design of small public spaces in the city. This is the list of awarded projects:

The criteria for the selection of works were the following:
- Fulfilment of the programme needs – improving ways of using spaces with regard to the needs of a local community
- Spatial concept – relation to the existing urban matrix and natural environment
- Originality and creativity in design and way of use – contemporary concepts of using space, multifunctionality, transformability
- Economy, rationality and feasibility
- Sustainability of space usage – accessibility, safety, low-maintenance, potential for interaction and sociability.
The exhibition of works and discussion on the topic of this call will be held within the Culture of Space Festival organised by our project partners – the Association of Novi Sad Architects in September 2018.
