20/08/2018

The ‘Novi Sad 2021’ Foundation, as one of the partners within the ‘S.P.A.C.E. – Street Participation for Active Citizenship in Europe’ together with the City Administration for Culture of Novi Sad, initiated the debate at ‘Štrand’ city beach on Saturday, 18 August from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Foundation team discussed the following question with our fellow citizens: How important is Europe for you?

The idea of this street debate was to discuss the topic of Europe: how participants experience it, what are advantages and disadvantages…

The S.P.A.C.E. project includes implementation of specific methodology of citizens’ participation in expressing opinions about important social topics in European context, brings the debate between citizens to the street in order to facilitate the process of citizens involvement in bringing democratic decisions.

The main objectives of the S.P.A.C.E. project are: to create space for expressing opinions, initiate the debate on the future of Europe; to raise capacities of local authorities and organisations of civil society; create the possibility to hear the voice of the citizens on a European level.

The project is implemented in 10 countries: Italy, Estonia, Romania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, France and Serbia with the support of the Europe for Citizens.
