The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia gave support to the candidacy of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture in 2021.

„The Ministry of Culture and Information gives support to candidacy of Novi Sad for the European Capital of Culture, hoping that Novi Sad, with its rich cultural tradition, will in the best way represent the Republic of Serbia and its culture, and that will influence the development of intercultural exchange in Europe,“ states the letter of support sent by the Minister of Culture and Information, Ivan Tasovac.

A few days ago, the Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vučić, said that he, personally, and the entire Serbian Government support the Novi Sad Candidacy.

This is important since being supported by highest state administration bodies is one of the criteria for becoming European Capital of Culture.
